dont say you did it, to let the heat out the back of the engine bay and keeps the engine cooler....cuz thats a load of crap!

I did it for mild cowl cooling yes, but i like the look mainly. And yes heat does pour out of it. but the gap is only around 1/8-1/4 or an inch. its kind of hard to see unless you are looking.

some z guys do that cause they have a huge intake plenum from another car.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Doesn't it really work though? I heard it really keeps the underhood temps down.

I wish someone would actually test this. Check temp with hood stock, wait for the engine to cool down, do this trick, then test it again. If it actually works within reason, I'd do it on my Camry for sure. SRI sucks with heat! 100degrees outside.. I'm sucking in pure heat because engine is just that much hotter!

Well it diff. works. But the question is how much. I can see the heat coming out of the rear of the hood. not off the hood (never really saw that).
