What do you guys think of the Toyota Celica RA6? (the 83-85 celicas, the kinda that look like eight-six's kinda)

Theirs one at work and my Z is just taking a huge shit on me... The Z needs new vaccum hoses (the old ones are rotten) and new injectors. I really didnt want to know what else it needed, and I want a drift car. So I might get this clean celica at work

The thing is, I dont see alot of aftermarket support for the RA6, I wanted to go with a panda scheme like the Tureno or all Jet Black like my moms when she had one way back.

I know these rims are pretty ugly, but I plan on getting Watanabes if i get it (this isnt the one by the way, ill take pics of the actuall one next time i head to work. but its EXACTLY like this one)

whats the point if its automatic?

i mean, if it was manual id say go for it but you said you want it for drifting.

i dunno its your choice.

my uncle has one,he has some suspension mods done, and its a pretty reliable car according to him

They have some balls. I was going to buy a yellow one for 1500 stick shift with 130k miles. I took it on the highway that badboy picks up fast. Well the one i drove had a engine swap from IDK what kinda car. It used to pull me back harder then my cb7. But since its auto i woudlnt wanna buy it unless you have plans for it then its up to you.

ive met a few automatic drifters, and their pretty good.

I like their look with the retractable headlights. I just wouldnt know where to go to get the swap done, i know i could go to the junk yard or ecology to get the parts....

i would ideally want to go with a MKIII supra transmission and LSD.

custom turbointake manifold for the engine (the code escapes me right now, eventhough its it big letters right in front of the plenium)

you could basically just go to a junkyard and buy a motor . . . do the ae86 motors fit in that chassis? theres a few nice DOHC motors that you can get from either a junkyard or japan that provide good power

well, after many futile attempts to start it today, the bitch would not start at ALL. it cranks over, but dosent completely turn over, like its not getting any fuel. One of the drivers said the rings were bad. and when i try to start it, a whining/pop sound comes from the exhaust gasoline fumes are REALLY appearent.

Goddamn, this ALWAYS happens to me...

if that car is carb'd . . . which im guessing it is . . . just adjust the screw to give it more fuel. youve kinda gotta keep your foot on the gas pedal to start a carb'd car tho . . . sounds like its not getting any spark to me . . . the fuel that its getting isnt burning if you smell gas from the exhaust

I had one it was an 85 coupe though. It has the 22RE EFI fuel injection. Horsepower around 125 torque 115 (I can't remember) RWD. Independent rear suspension. I swapped the motor out when I had it for a 22RET (t=turbo). I was eating Hondas all day with it. Until it got in an accident not by me though,.
