I work at a mitsubishi/toyota/vw dealer and I have driven the new eclipse, and i must say with an automatic V6 that thing has some balls. I couldn't believe how quick it was with the automatic. The sport shift on the auto shifts ligtneng fast for what it is. We haven't got any 6-speed manual V6's yet but i cant wait till we do. I have driven the 5-speed man. 4cyl and its not that bad it does pretty good for haulin all that weight around. All in all the new eclipse i feel is better that the previous model, but the looks and ergornomics are still a little dissapointing.

My bro and a buddy of mine has the 95-96 and 97-99 models which are sexy as hell(I had one also before i wrecked it) but it seems like 2000 and upwards models are ugly and gonna be for a long time to come. I will 2nd the motion to say ist really hella ugly.
