510's are just fragile little cars........my uncle died in one and my dad almost died in the same wreck....just too weak

what about the merkur xr4ti, first came out 20 years ago.....it owns them IMO......simple engine design, boosted from the factory and you can hit 250whp easy with just a few common sense mods

and they're RWD, built in germany, independent suspension at all 4 corners, and share TONS of parts with mustangs, lincolns, contours, thunderbirds, rangers, etc.....

i always thought they were fords... bah, pile of ford...

well here is a couple of pics of the old school imports I,ve owned , sorry for the picture quality, these are from photes I scanned.

this is a datsun 200sx I owned back in 1992 to 1995. it had a nap z 4cyl 5 spd , shaved , ported head 2 inch exaust , center force clutch , dropped 4 inches , swaybars front and rear, and welded spider gears in rear diff (poor mans possi lolo)


second is a 1971 510 I had 1997-1999, It had a 1600 4 cyl shaved , and ported head, 44 mm weber carb. 200 sx tranny , staight piped exaust with a glass pack . and lots of rust and dents . But it was a blast to drive



and this last pic is a 72 510 a freind of mine brought over a couple of days ago. and it will be swapped with a 240 engine and turbo this summer
