    CR-V & CR-X

    What does CR-V mean?
    I've always wondered.
    I know CR-X stands for
    Civic Renneissance X.

Can somebody shed some light on this?

The Honda CR-V is a Crossover SUV, a type of automobile, manufactured by Honda. It was derived from the Honda Civic platform to satisfy a public demand for an SUV from Honda. The name CR-V stands for "Comfortable Runabout Vehicle". It is available in both All-wheel drive and Front-wheel drive.
The Honda Civic CRX, originally launched as the Honda Ballade CR-X in Japan, is a compact sports car manufactured by Honda. It is also known as the "Civic Renaissance Model X".
    That should help

Wow... where did you get this info from? Interesting.
Someone told me CRX stands for Coupe Racing eXperimental, but I didn't take them seriously.

My CB7 is now ***FOR SALE***

I've always heard "Civic Renaissance Model X" thrown around, the whole "Comfortable Runabout Vehicle" sounds like someone made it up but you can find this at wikipedia, under Honda, then car models, then crx/cr-v

This is always a popular question, "What does CR-V stand for?"

The answer is, "Comfortable Runabout Vehicle". This is not widely known, and your local dealer, who probably doesn't know the truth, may have fabricated their own definition for the term.
I also found this, which is a page linked to from the cr-v wiki entry page

yea the cr-x, has always been noted as the renaissance/rebirth model of the civic. Also a big reason as to stopping the crx line and also another reason why not to have another generation directly relating to the original crx design. After all how many "renaissance's" can a civic go through. The popular demande in the mid to late 80's of the CR-X is what kept production going but toward the early 90's the demand sort of deflated and the cr-x was replaced by the del sol, which in many countries still wear the cr-x badge.

My guess was because it came from Japan. AKA Land of the Rising Sun. Hence that "From the Sun" meaning "Del Sol".
And if it is like that, then why they chosed Latin over other languages in the world?
I think theres a meaning in every name a car gets.
                    Dont you guys agree?

The Honda Accord is an automobile manufactured by Honda.
Honda chose the name Accord, claiming no other name was available.
^^I guess not necessarily Most names are choosen because they're catchy or describe the car, or just sound "cool". However it's the others that don't seem to make sense that leave people puzzled. They don't necessarily have a specific meaning...
