As previously mentioned I inherited my late father's 2000 Accord (which I bought new for him). While he owned it he took good care of it mechanically but over time it suffered from parking lot abuse in LA.
After bringing it home to Phoenix in 2013 (with only 38k miles) it's become my wife's daily driver and unfortunately she had a few additional "mishaps" as well. It finally got to the point where I couldn't bear seeing it in such poor shape so I decided it's was to time to restore too. This one required far more work than the 93 including a full respray.
My biggest mistake was doing it at the same time as the 93SE. Since one or the other has been tied up in body shop limbo since October. Each time one is finished I discover new blemishes or overlooked issues that necessitate it's return. Then due to cold weather I need to wait about 4 weeks for the paint to cure prior to having paint protection film applied. Each time I think its done the film installer finds small imperfections on either the hood or bumper that would be amplified by the film if not taken care of first. This results in returning each car back to the body shop and the process begins again... about 4 times now.
I've been chauffeuring my wife in the TSX since it all began and we're both tired of it. I'm hoping by late today or tomorrow to get the 00EXV6 back and if no further paint work was needed (on the front) to have it to wrapped by end of the week that's my goal anyway...
This is the car about 2 months new back in 2000 when I first bought it:
Here are pics from last October at the start of the restoration process:
By the end of October I had it home and was able to see multiple imperfections in my garage under the fluorescent lighting:
