Looks cool, I'm curious to see how it will perform in longevity. My only concern with the first model year of a new model is there WILL be problems that will need to be sorted out, it's unavoidable, but hopefully there will be nothing major for you.

Doubtful there will be first year issues, if any. The platform is derived from Holden, which has been on the road for years. Its a re-bodied G8, which was released a few years ago here.
Nice car especially if you are familiar with the Pontiac G8. The only complaint I have is the name, it would have been nice for them to bring back old name tags such as Biscayne, Bel Air, Chevelle, Nova or something with some sort of homage to classic Chevy's.
This WILL be my first new car purchase ever. I've been waiting for this to be unveiled.
2014 Chevy SS.
Discuss.
Surprised it's taken this long for you guys to finally get it in your market.
Otherwise know as VF Commodore to us NZ/Auz guys.
Can't wait to see it in the dealers.
The specs are looking pretty good, and jumping well ahead of the previous VE Commodore.
But I haven't heard any news of a Ute version, They had talked about discontinuing the Ute, so time will tell.

Actually you can almost guarantee first year issues, Almost ALL Commodore models had first year issues, though the dealer warranty covered everything.
You may have a better case assuming your models will be built in the US, with different quality control.
I'm somewhat happy with the whole package. The motor, the 4 doors, and a 6-speed when it becomes available is what grabbed me. I like the look of it, but the G8 was a little nicer IMO. Still, it has won me over, so there is a very strong chance I'll be in one soon.
Sucks for you Canadian buyers, its not going across the boarder.
My buddy Tyler bought a G8 from Boston and drove it back to Alberta. They're hard enough to find here as it is. But it's no problem to buy a new car in the US and import it here.
The most exciting thing we're going to see is the new Impala. Shame we won't get the SS, and I don't understand why, since they previously sold G8s and GTOs here.
