    I have a p28 ecu with a d16a6?

Just what the title says. I haven't been driving the car but I have before and it ran fine. That's not the ecu that came with it and i've heard that you'll need a conversion harness and I have no clue what else to run this ecu with the engine I have. How can I make sure this was done right? I read that the p28 was easier to tune with but it would have to be chipped. I have no clue when it comes to the ecu's. I'm not too far off from having the car running again and i'm just trying to make sure I have everything good before I start driving it.

Yes you need an OBD0 to OBD1 jumper harness as the D16A6 is an OBD0 engine and the P28 is an OBD1 ECU. That bieng said the ECU should run the engine ok, the compression ratios are similar, but the ECU is meant for a VTEC engine. Yes, you can chip a P28, but seems unnecessary on a stock engine, unless it's not stock, then it makes sense.

Well it's already hooked up and the car runs fine. The only thing is the previous owner hooked it up and I have no way of contacting him. Could he have made that harness himself? The car was turbo when i got it but the turbo was leaking oil so I removed it. It's back to n/a right now. If I open up the ecu will there be something obvious to look for to know if it has been chipped? If it has been tuned to run turbo I don't want to be driving it with that ecu of course. I guess i'm wondering if I should be looking at getting a stock ecu for the time being. I've driven the car though and it runs fine just like it is. I just want to be sure. I can't afford to blow something up.
