    I want a Galant VR-4

Dammit! I just had to post it. I really love those cars... They have the utility of the CB7, as well as the slightly boxy appearance that I have come to love. They have the motor and 4wd of the first gen Eclipse GSX, which IMO is the best of all. I believe the have 4ws too.

I dunno. I just started thinking about getting one and had to post!

My fiancee said she might get me a car for a wedding present. I don't know if that requires the sale of my 1986 Accord though! If not, I think I might ask her for a VR-4. They can be had for about $3000, which isn't unreasonable.

At the last MD meet at Budd's Creek, we saw 2 10 second VR4s... Totally awesome!

The DSM weaknesses are there, but they're the 1G weaknesses... no crankwalk, etc. The differentials are probably weak, especially under heavy mods. Otherwise, that 4G63t flavor is one of the strongest (I was researching them for use in a Hyundai a while back, remember? )

The car would be fancy enough to be worth driving, and fast enough to be worth modding. And since they are fairly uncommon, it would be different enough to satisfy my urge to have something many other people don't have (my reason for hating Civics...)

And thanks on the b-day wishes!

vr4's (the old boxy style) are great cars. i know a guy that has one with bigger injectors, intercooler/piping, large plenum intake manifold, boost controller, and afc w/ tuning. in race trim he put out 460 whp on race gas. he took his aws off for a huge weight reduction. the car still has a full leather interior w/ all power options and runs 12's. 12's with cheaper modds than our cb7's. only thing is that they are kind hard to find in mint condition.

where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

badass cars... I was debating between that and a 89-94 turbo legacy, and almost sold my car for one, but ended up sticking with the accord

I had a 91 VR4 less then a year ago. I liked it a lot and it was great to drive and you cant beat the sleeper look. It was modded enough, 13 sec car but it could drink some gas. Im kinda dsm addicted tho, i have 4 1G turbo AWD dsms at this point, ive had and parted out like 6 other dsms. As far as DSM weaknesses, thats the 2G cars! 1Gs are great if taken care of but remember its a turbo car and they are 10-15 years old now so they are going to be prone to some problems. Cant wait to til it gets warm so i can get my 1G race are to the track, just finished my built motor and FP3065 Turbo (its good for 650hp). Oh an by the way my VR4 sadly is gone, a friend met a tree with it! Oh well... Yea and look for a galant GSX, AWD 2.0 NA motor and you can swap the turbo motor in it. But good luck finding one, im still kicking my self over not buying this mint VR4 shell last year ( i mean i had the one so i had not real need to ) but now i regret it.
