A Factory first for Honda/Acura come 2006

Well as the headline has it, I was watching MotorWeek yesterday at work they showed this Acura SUV concept called the RDX and they annouced that Acura was coming out with another SUV based on the next generation CRV.

And this one will feature a factory first, FACTORY FIRST turbo charged Acura/Honda engine. Details were a bit sketchy but it has been confirmed that Honda will indeed have their first ever turbo charged engine.

Now how come it too so friggin long I dont know.

If we're lucky enough they'll slap it on the RSX.

There was a turbo honda in the 80's I believe...one of the JDM microcars. Maybe the City? or something like that. I saw it in GT4 the other day lol

Isn't the Honda City a foreign Honda Civic? I say that because my friend/coworker went to India on vacation, when he came back he said, "Everyone over there has a honda civic, but they call it the Honda city."

damnit someone beat me...yea this isnt the first factory turbocharged engine honda has offered...while yes this would be the first USDM honda with a factory equipped turbo it isnt the first. id still like to see what motor they use..might be a new hybrid for all the honda lovers out there..possibly a k20 with a less efficent head as the civics and rsx's??...turbo for that torque..and oOoOooO i wonder if that will be a 4WD system... yet another way to modify your long lasting honda compact..

Actually I forgot about the City , yeha your right Mike, thanks to all you guys who corrected me on this. The City indeed did come with turbo I have a magazine in where the owner of a shop in California has one. All original.

1987 Legend 2.7L-T was the last factory produced turbo car. This new SUV will also be built in the USA which I understand is also a first since the current Acura SUV's are made in Japan.

Well yeah it'll probably be a bit cheaper too, I mean all the Acura vehicles are built in Japan for starters, maybe thats why there so expensive.

yea i can confirm that, i had seen a Honda City first, then i saw a Honda civic, and i kept calling it a city and soon realized it was a civic, its the same damn car, just called civic, i think they have slightly smaller motors but i'm not certain..

edit: i like the way the civic looks though, the city comes with a tiny 1.5L, 77 hp motor, link:
