Personally I like the old school evo's and suby's but if you are comparing powerwise a srt-4 vs. the base evo 8's and a regular wrx, stockwise
One of my friends has an srt-4 and did a 13.8 at the track. Personally I don't like the way the car looks coz "it's a neon" And especially that goofy wing on the rear lid really reminds me of a wannabe type-r integra wing for some reason. Still I have respect for those cars If I had to get a domestic rice car and had to choose between these.....
1) Neon Srt-4
2) Cougar Supercharged
3) Focus SVT
4) Cobalt SS
5) Ion Redline
I would choose the srt-4 mainly because it has so much crazy aftermarket support for it now it's sooo easy to make this car a street terror. From the factory with a good driver able to hit a 13.8-14.0 which is pretty good considering average cars do mid 15's 16's in the 1/4.
Now comparing a srt-4, regular evo viii, and just the regular WRX... powerwise I would choose the srt-4. My friend raced and walked these cars with boltons and hanged with a STI by it's rear bumper. All my friend did to his srt-4 is a greddy type-s blow off valve and something dubbed the $ mod. Lookswise I like the old school imprezza right before they changed the body style (fat nissan s14 looking headlights) and I like the evo 3's and evo 6. I'm not a fan of the new body styles. Ever hear a STI running just the downpipe?? *drool* if I had one of those I would pick on domestics all the time for shits and giggles.
I need a custom turbo manifold built.... 707NorCalNinjaZ
Lots of people on here are EVO fans and that is cool. The EVO is great but the STI just does it for me. The looks of it are crazy so damn agressive especially with a few more body mods. I see more EVO's around here then STI's that is one of the reason's I like the STI cause not many people have them plus for some reason that sound of the boxer engine exhuast is just crazy. They are both great for pretty much everything it is just a matter of preference in this situation. IMO
if i could have 4 cars they would be and EVO for agility an STI for brute power and straight line speed, a monster truck and well an srt-4 to crush with the monster truck, i think alot of people would agree that they would get more of a kick out of watching it get crushed then watching it race, ssssss ACHOOO "bless you srt-4, you should really get that nasty sneeze checked out" LOL
i have an srt-4 and i love it. but i have to say i would rather have an evo.is a better car overall. but with little mods the srt can keep up with the evo all day long.
I always wanted an srt-4 if i couldnt get an evo and whatnot but i decided to keep the cb7 becuase its like ive invested alotta money in this probably never gonna get it back so why stop there.
For a daily driver I'd take an sti. With a 30-35k budget, I would get:
1)stock sti
2)stock evo and wheels
3)srt4 with 10-15k left over
4)wrx with 10k left over (owned a wrx and it fell short imo)
I am all for the the STI. Dad has a Forrester and this thing CRANKS the 0-60 at about 5 1/2 sec. It hauls. It's the boxer engine and such. I think the STI can take the handling (for all those who think it can't add $1000 and see what happens) and I think it can take the Speed and the Power as stated above.
