my very good friend just crashed her scion tc. she's really bummed and she really wants this car back. she told me she doesnt even want to buy a new one. she claims it as totaled but there could be a chance of fixing it. im asking if anyone has the time to come check it out and see if it is indeed los forever. she flipped it and the roof is caved in, rear glass it out and all the airbags went off. i might be able to get some pics up depending on how much of a chance you think this car has of survivng.

It already sounds totalled to me. New cars are designed to get destroyed in order to save the occupants. The fact that it's been flipped says totalled to me. Too many structural safety features would have collapsed making the car non-repairable.

It depends on the year, and mileage. Totaled is when the repair is more than 80% of the cars value. Could be. Throw it in the gutter and go buy another. Most likely the car will never b the same again.

If it's bent the primary structure of the frame, which it sounds like it has, then it's pretty much totalled. Once the frame has been bent it's hard to get the car to drive the same again and be as safe.

I dont know if i wanna cry, throw up, laugh or do all 3, lol. That thing is...wow.

As far your friend's "beloved" tC...sounds totalled. Even if it can be fixed, youre looking at running into a few big hurdles. Frame damage and title problems are the main ones. Im not in the insurance business so i dont know, but id assume that if the insurance comapny totals it, it has to be junked or destroyed. That or the "total" the title, which is just as bad.

Post or pm me pics from all angles, I work for a Toyota/Scion dealer. I file insurance claims all the time. I can tell you if its totaled. But honestly if the roof is seriously caved in I wouldn't wanna fix it. It will never be the same.

well thanks for the help guys, sounds like a lost cause to me. it just struck me as odd because she really wants this car back even though she has plenty of money and connections to get a new car. first time ive seen a girl who actually made a connection with her first car. anyway, i'll try and get pics for you but shes still a little shaken from the crash.

Sure she wants to hold on to "her" car and not go buy another one but that is exactly what she needs to do.
