    D15b2 Turbo Automatic

    Let the flamming begin!!!

Decided to turbo my 91 civic hatchback. Got a complete DSM 14b setup. The goal is for around 200-215whp. That is easily doable with a standard tranny, however I want to see if the auto can take the abuse. I will be running a huge tranny cooler and some kind of better fluid. Any info, experience with this setup, or insults are appreciated.

              Hahahahaha!!

Well here is the situation. I have another d15b2 minus a head. The weak part in these motors are the rods, so it will be getting forged rods and pistons. I'm not sure which head to go with yet and any suggestions are welcomed. The best part about this project is the fact that I got a complete dsm 14b setup for a good price, and my dad owns an exhaust shop and is one hell of a fabricator. The weak point will be the tranny for sure, but we'll see how that works out.

So what would anyone recomend for forged pistons and rods? I heard that you can use b18b rods for a strength upgrade but they do require machining to work. Would these be a good alternative to forged?

So my 14b dream turned out to be shit. My "friend" gave me the stuff because it was all stolen.

So now im going to use a ihi rhb5 until I piece a better kit. What should I use as far tuning goes? I still need to do a mpfi swap so what ecu should I use.

for about 2 grand you can get a rebuild motor and turbo in. then another 2 grand on transmission mods and TUNING. 350 fwp isnt bad for 3-4k topps

So does anyone have more info on this turbo? I can find very little. Its an IHI RHB5. Also looking for a mpfi intake manifold, obd1 dizzy, injectors, injector resistor box, obd1 ecu. And as far as the transmission goes, I actually found a company that makes stuff for them. According to them, stock honda autos usually account for a 30% horsepower loss from motor to the wheels. With their products (such as a higher stall torque convertor, different shift solenoids, and shift computer) they can get that down to a 12% loss. From what I have heard, stock honda manual trannys lose about 15%. I know that eventually this setup will let down, but when it does, I'm going for an f22 NA build to drop in!
