88 jeep cherokee 4.0 straight 6

ok i got this jeep and its bein a pecker head lol....it will start sometimes other times it wont it will just turn over....sometimes u can spray ether(starting fluid) in it and it will start other times it wont start with that

ive changed everything to do with the ignition,checked relays,fuses,has everything new on it like plugs wires,coil,icm,everything

can some one help me out and tell me a possible reason its not starting at times

i really dont want to get rid of it...its mine and my brothers and when somthing is wrong with the other cars we drive that...well untill it fucked up...

I used to have 93 Cherokee with the 4.0 and it had the same problem. Mine turned out to be the distributor. It was cracked and would let it start once in a while. I hope I've helped and want to say Jeeps rock!

ya know thats the only thing i havnt changed on it so ill see how much one is and ill try it thanks man

yeah i had a 90 with the 4.2 build and i had the disturbter probem too lol. sometimes it just dies on me. new cap and all good. also i found out he clip that holds the whole distribter cap and oilpump assembly down was broke! it would bounce up and down and the oil light showes sometimes. but it ran! lol.

i just checked that today and its fucked...i hope that fixes it...o and by the way my distributer is fine...so im really hopin for the crank sensor to do it lol..thnx man
