    Teggy Exterior Feedback

OK, so the teggy has been getting stripped down and you would not recognize it at this point. Looks nothing like the pic in my sig cause it's naked including interior, under the hood, and body panels. It's basically a frame on wheels at this point.

So I will be starting the exterior work soon. It's not going to be cheap, but I think it would be super hot and server my purpose of looking good but mainly lowering the center of gravity and dropping the weight.

GOAL: To have a dead sexxi looking teggy from the outside that LOWERS THE CENTER OF GRAVITY & DROPS A LOT OF WEIGHT

Here's what I'm seriously considering doing:

JDM ITR front conv. (already purchased)
Painted championship or alpine white ($100)
    CF hood ($500)
    CF roof ($400)
    CF hatch ($700)
    CF front lip ($300)
    CF sideskirts ($500)
    CF rear lip/valance ($300)
polymer/lexan windows all the way around ($1,200)
    all-red tails ($100)
shaved emblems, antenna, and side molding ($0)

Minus what I already have, it's about $4k worth of parts I have to buy and I'm doing all the body work and painting myself so basically $0 for labor.

Basically it would be white with CF panels for everything on the top and all around the bottom.

On a side note, While it's stripped down, I will be re-enforcing the frame under the hood, patching up all the openings/bolt holes/gaps/etc. where parts USED TO GO to have a solid looking engine bay that's basically a wire/hose tuck to the extreme and painting it the same white as the exterior.

I'm really considering this and may actually go ahead and do it, but just wanted some general feedback of what you guys think. Keep in mind it will never be driven on a public road.

Sounds pretty awesome, I would paint all the cf parts, and if lowering center of gravity I would save your money on the cf skirts and stay with stock, or whatever you have already. My only problem is what you said at the end of all this...Never driving it on a public road.

Unless you own the house pictured on this forum that has the roadcourse for a driveway, why spend all the money not to drive it??? I'm gonna drive the crap out of my car this summer now that the exterior is all finished up.

Besides all that, I think it already looks great, and can only look that much better when it's done. Keep in mind some light weight wheels, that will really help!

The CF lip, skirts, and rear valance are for looks. All other CF parts are for performance which would also help in the looks dept. The whole idea started from a comment on clubintegra.com about a panda integra when I was asking what issues people are having with the CF rear hatches. So it kinda blossomed from there.

As for driving it on the street, the windows alone make it illegal for road use. Besides, I'm putting so much time and money into this thing, I don't want it all to get destroyed or messed up by some idiot on the road. If it's gonna get destroyed, it's gonna be by me and it's gonna be on a track having some REAL FUN with it

Already got them. 17" light weight Falkens deep dish, black w/chrome lip and Dunlop FM901 tires. The car will not have anything on it unless I need it for 1. safety, 2. structural integrity and handling, 3. performance, and finaly, 4. to look dead sexxi on the outside without hindering the rest of the plans.

91accord4door - got any reason why you voted that "I am an idiot and should not do this to the teggy"???? Just wondering. I can take some criticism

i dont really like the idea of ruining a decent car to begin with. a carbon fiber roof does nothing for the car, and imo all that carbon fiber on the white base will look hideous, 17" rims are to big for a teg, the jdm itr front is played out, the 98+ oem front looks so much better imo. the jdm front was nice when nobody did it...but now its the new b18c1 into a eg hatch. just seams like a big waste of money on carbon fiber when you could put all that into a K series swap or build a b series. im more of a function over form guy. but in the end it is YOUR car so do as you please, im sure it will turn out fine for your likeings. i have a 98 gsr and i made it the way i wanted it, clean, simple and quick. best of luck with it.

Honestly I agree with 91accord4door on the carbon fiber roof, honestly I doubt youre going to save any weight with that. You should be dumping that money into suspension if youre making a serious track car.

You obviously don't know me very well. That's OK. But please notice how NOTHING has been said about brakes/suspension/motor/trans/etc. Why? Because that is not the focus of this topic lol

Played out or not, I LOVE THE JDM FRONT on tegs Gives me a CD5/S13 mixture kinda feel and I like it. The CF roof will allow me to drop approx. 50-60lbs or more counting the sunroof at the highest point on the car which is a BIG difference. The JDM front and the lips/skirts are the only things planned for looks (because I like the way they look) and everything else is "function over form" as you put it. ALL of my CB's were "function over form" as I'm sure plenty of people on here who have seen some of them will vouch for that The car is being built in stages. First the exterior and engine bay (no motor work yet, only frame re-enforcements and welding up unused openings/bolt holes/gaps, and painting white to match the outside). Then the interior/cage is next. Then brakes/sus. And finally the motor/trans. Believe me that all aspects are being planned around "function over form" with the exception of the front and the unnecessary CF lower panels but those are just cause I think it would look very nice and make me want to have sexy time with her. Thanks for the input though

Yes, but there's something about a nice white with CF that just sits so well with me

I know. Here's the plans for that as I posted them on clubintegra:

"What I was thinking is that the roof is like a piece of formed sheet metal. It has a "brace structure" below it that is what actually attaches to the unibody and ties the whole roof together while the sheet metal is mainly just for looks on the outside. The "brace" attaches to the sheet metal roof mainly by a strong adhesive but is only really welded in the corner rain gutters. If I can cut just the sheet metal out, and only enough to leave a lip for the CF roof to attach to without actually touching the "brace" then I should be able to attach the CF roof to the remaining lip with some screws or fasteners and tuck it under the rain gutter strips and use a good sealant to keep it from leaking and use some strong adhesive to attach it to the CF roof to the OE brace. The cage inside will strengthen up the whole body, but if need be, weld more to the roof brace to keep that from flexing too much. I hope that makes sense. I've got a good visual picture of how to do it but might not explain it well."

At least 200lbs all the way around saved right there. and that's weight fairly high up on the car too.

If I do ANYTHING in CF on the bottom, I want it to match all the way around. Just a personal preference on mine.

so its going to be a track car only? if so it seams like theres alot of money used on parts that arent making any performance advantage. however if you have money to blow, why the hell not

I've always seemed to focus on ONLY performance on all of my past cars. I figure for this one I'll actually put some time and money into the looks on top of the performance. Just trying something new that's all

Is it your idea? Didn't know bro If you are going to do it within the next 2 months then I won't, how about that? Issues is that I that I've kinda already started and I've been saving for the additional parts I don't have yet.

I was originally ggonna keep it black for simplicity, but IMO white would look better and everyone I've spoken with locally and has seen the car agrees. I'm trying to just buy all the CF parts at one time and try to work out a little discount on prices/shipping. I think I would save more in the long run. Thanks for look out man!

Ive seen your past accords and I know you definately go for performance over everything else.....so Im not doubting that this thing will be a beast.

I like your ideas....but like others have said I wouldnt go for the cf lips and such....They may look sexy but itd piss me off greatly if you go off the track and crack or break things that are expensive and really dont provide any real benefit other than looking good....and also me personally if your gonna go with a white car Id paint all the cf to match....but I dont think itd look bad if you dont
