    2004 Dodge Neon SXT... misfires

So, as the title reads, there's my car... it's having any issue. It sort of hiccups under regular to heavy acceleration and throws a code for the CEL. Cylinder 3 is misfiring. Need to see if anyone has any input from personal experience or just general help. Thanks in advance.

Just to clear up the air on your first inclinations, here's some recent background on the car:

    • 86K on the odometer
    • NEW spark plugs & wires
    • NEW coil pack
    • NEW air filter
    • Castrol GTX high mileage 5W-30 & Purolator Premium Oil Filter
    • Tranny Flush

^^^^This was my 85K mile tune-up. Cylinder 1 & 3 was misfiring BUT, the coil pack corrected that issue. It ran like a Cadillac for about 2 wks and now this.

The coil could have went out again or the module .

The coil is BRAND NEW (not a junkyard find). I've checked it for cracks, etc. I've eliminated that possibility. Let's say that the ignition module has been checked (which I haven't yet). I just want a list of a few other possibilities to explore. Thanks for your help so far.

P.S. I've been reading online about the crank sensor throwing off the time for the injectors. Could this be an issue to investigate?

Sure it could be. But it probably would be across the board not just one.

Also just looking at the coil means nothing the only way to see if its good or not is to test it with an ohm meter and see if its in spec.

That's another reason I eliminated the coil pack from my troubleshooting. Before I replaced the coil pack, Cylinder 1 & 3 was misfiring (probably jumping, signaling the misfire). Replaced the coil pack... no more misfire and cleared the codes. That was two wks ago.

Okay i master in Neons aswell did you change your plugs and wires?change them again and check the plugs again to make sure they are at the proper gap. Did you recently use shitty gas? but I would buy another coil
