According to Nissan, this is supposed to be lighter. According to Car and Driver, only the BASE model is lighter and the sport model is actually heavier.

I am not quite sure who to believe. Nissan has an obvious interest in skewing things for marketing purposes, but C&D sometimes goofs up too. This month they claimed the TL SH-AWD has fake aluminum trim, when in fact it is real.

Do people who track these things actually weigh them?

Most likely thicker and more plentiful steel throughout the structure. It only takes a little bit here and there.

The track is about an inch and a half larger. The wheelbase is actually 4" shorter.
