      s10forum.com would help you more.

it can be a number of things.

the actual gauge is messed up.
fuel sending unit (which would require you changing it..or changing the entire fuel pump)
      bad grounds
      fuel buffer is bad
      ect

and about hitting the take with a rubber hammer. sometimes a part inside of the fuel pump on the sender i think gets stuck, and hitting the tank with the rubber hammer will (hopefully) knock whatever part is stuck, free. thus fixing your problem. but like i said, go to s10forum.com theres literally over 100 threads on fuel gauges not working.

hell, the fuel gauge in my sonoma doesn't work.

all that sounds a little too technical for me. I would say give it a good smack with the rubber hammer. If nothing else you will feel better.

            LOL!

I will do that today, I hope it fixes, but the thing is I put like $40 gas the other day, and the needle was in the same position, the empty position

9 times outta ten its the fuel sending unit that sticks... you have to service the whole unit (fuel pump and all) and dropping the tank is a pain the dick. hope that helps.

dropping the tank isn't THAT hard..but it's MUCH easier taking the bed off and getting to it while the bed is off.
