NSX successor hand timed at 7:37 on the 'ring, in traffic.

If you follow the link, there are several others, including a preliminary spy shot of the interior. Or at least some of it.

Also, rough photoshop work determines that the size of this car will be somewhere between the S2K on the bottom end, and slightly shorter than the NSX on the top end. It will be measurably smaller than the GT-R, 911, Corvette and R8. Hopefully, that bodes very well for curb weight.

Here is one person's preliminary sketch of what they think it might look like.

                http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-messa...item_id=768558

Here is a more recent video of it on a track:

                http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=769707

Definitely a V10 and most likely sounds like it is revving to 8K+. And it is moving. It also has a twin clutch gearbox, and at least features match rev downshifting. Very exciting.

I am also EXTREMELY glad to see they stuck to the Honda way of high NA revs. It sounds amazing, and I bet in person would make the hairs on your neck stand up.

Here is more footage of it in older prototype form when it was still wearing hacked up S2K bodywork.

Also, to add some perspective to these lap times.

The current production car track record belongs to the GT-R a 7:29. That is an official time. The 7:37 is not, although it is probably accurate to about a second or two. It is also in traffic. This puts it right in the ballpark of the Koenigsegg CCR and Ruff RT12, but slightly behind the pace of the 911 GT2 and GTR. For comparison, the Z06 best time was a 7:42.9, the SLR McLaren was 7:40, the 599 Fiorano was 7:47, The 430 Scuderia was 7:55 and the C5 Z06 and NSX-R were both 7:56. Not bad for a mule.

About 6 months ago, this car was running in the 8:20 range, and they have lopped around 1 minute from the time. This car also still has about a year of development time left, and with the camo on, it most likely has some compromised aerodynamics.

This car could very well steal the track record, and may even outperform the Spec-V in regular form. Of course, it Acura ends up doing a Type R, it is anyone's guess.

                  Very exciting in deed.

I can't watch videos on my phone so when I get a min I will be checking those out.

As far as the prototype, I like it. Very agressive looking.

Make sure you watch it on something with good speakers. And turned up, at least a bit...

Over 3 minutes of footage, and man does it sound good. It is MOVING too. You get a better perspective of the speed on the straight.
