    subaru turbo diesel ftw!

i was looking at a european car magazine and came across an article on the new subaru legacy turbo diesel. after some research i found out that this is the first diesel boxer engine in the world! it is alread available in europe and features 148 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at just 1,800 rpm. check out this article for some more info:

Hell I'd take 60.5mpg, what that engine gets, ANYDAY lol, even if diesel is 4.95 a gallon vs. unleaded at 3.75 here in AZ

yeah...that sounds all fine and dandy....

but i've never heard ANYTHING like this before...it sounds so un-friendly to mod..

"The turbocharger is mounted underneath the engine and attached to the catalytic converter, where it ensures quick catalyst light-off for cleaner air emissions."

well the car is not meant to be modified. subaru was beginning to have problems with their emissions as the european union made its emission laws stricter so in order to stay in business they needed something and this turbo diesel is their answer. once the platform is released into imprezas im sure people will mod it.
