    92 Nissan Maxima SE

    at first ...I thought these things were powered by the VG30s...NOPE..

    SEs were powered by VE30DE ( 190hp/ 190 trq )

    ..let me get to the question..

    how the intake manifold sits....HOW do you get to the back 3 plugs?


    I dont know THAT much about these engines....( 3.0L DOHC V6 )

    the GXE models had VG30s but the SEs had the DOHC VE30s

    NOTE: Im getting a 92 Maxima SE 5spd here by the end of the week...if all goes well.

    I will take pics of it when I have it in my grasp.

    tell then....HOW do you get to the back 3 plugs being the intake is covering the rear bank?

    have fun doing the back 3 its a pain i must say. get a swivel socket and extension. take ur time. think it out

      first off that is one of the best buys you can make. I would trade the accord in a heart beat for that car. Check for the VTC problem first before getting the car.

      And the top of the intake will have to come off to get the rear plugs sadly.

          Im reading about it as im bouncing back and forth between forums!

          NOTE: the VTC ticking seems to be a COMMON issue with these 3rd gen Maximas....along with window regulator failure.

          but damn .... 190hp/190trq....( SEs only )

          Im stoked!!

                The SE WILL pull on a H22 accord easily.

                The gxe will pull past a f22b accord easily. They are not cars to sleep on at all.

                I still think they are great cars for the age and cost.

                  it all depends on the driver as well!

                  AND...I would've had the car today...BUT, weather, Traffic,and TIME was not on my side ....so we scheduled to meet Friday Morning!

                  I dont plan on racing this car.....I just like to maintain ANY car I end up purchasing. ( im getting to that OLD stage..where I just cruise now and days )

                      89-94 Maxima's are hard to find with a 5 speed, especially in good condition. it was one of the cars i was lookin into before buying the Accord. good luck with it. and i heard that these cars have a problem with the fuel injectors? i could be wrong though.

                          yup...this is a VE30DE mated to a 5spd trans! so I guess I lucked out eh?
