I liked the "toaster" version of the xB, and I like the new xB even better. But, the Cube just isn't appealing. Maybe if the top of the line Cube model is under $15K I'd consider it.

You're a dumbass. Damn right it's a musclecar. When you goin on a REAL cool cruise you take something sweet like that 71 GTX. Driving a "cube" is not cruising. It's transporting your wussy little candyass to the store to buy some wine.

Its unfortunate, it seems Americanizing cars means making them bigger, meaner looking, increasing power, and giving 'em larger rims.

I've yet to see real advantages to making the xB bigger, its not as if it didn't have enough interior space in its previous form. Making it bigger is just going to make it heavier. And, yeah, heavy cars require bigger and heavier everything and will usually end up having crappy mileage. The xB dropped 7 mpg for the new generation change. Is fifty more horsepower and 600 pounds of bulk really that important?

Meaner looking.... uhhh.... Yeah, its stupid. Not every car on the road should look like a pissed off Dodge Charger, and sometimes I wish the Dodge Charger didn't look like the Dodge Charger either. I mean, what point is there to driving an aggressive looking car? 'Damn, I MUST be a bad ass cause I choose to drive this muscle car.' With logic like that, we might as well all be soccer moms driving our Honda Accords. I'm not saying that aggressive cars are a bad thing; I adore the first gen Camaro. But that also doesn't mean that an extremely practical and reliable family car needs to look like a ticked off mobster.

Increasing power for cruising is nonsense. When you're cruising, your chillin'. You're trying to get into a state of mental peace via your car. 0-60 times are the last thing of importance while cruising.

Giving it larger rims? Crap. I can't think of a down side for big rims.


Seriously, the Cube/old xB aren't scare-the-crap-out-of-you cars. But someone's going to have to show me why we even need scary cars in the first place. The Cube and the xB are honest, practical, unintimidating, cars for people who are more concerned with getting things done then scaring the driver of the car in the next lane. They are what they are, and they're pretty good at it.

Its like theyre trying to re-invent the crx or the Mini Cooper.
...at least they came with optional "Si" and "Turbo" editions...

Allin all, id like to see how it does. Who knows, maybe we'll catch on. But i think they better at least throw in a radio and optional bucket seats first.
