I was having tranny issues. Slippage. Flashing D4.

I was so set on it being a new tranny or something that was gonna cost me like $800+...

Turns out...it was just the TCU. Guy knows a guy and not only found one for $50, he's not charging me labor AND he's letting me take the car home today and letting me come in Thursday to pay for the TCU.



Im so glad it wasnt something uber expensive. Plus he's trusting me take the car home and come back to pay for it later. Im so happy.

I got her back. Runs good. A litte louder than i remember, but i havent driven it in like 2 months so...

Not to mention this town sucks. Have i mentioned that yet?? They dont have Pick/Pulls here. You have to call a "yard" and tell them what youre looking for. If you cant explain to them in their terms or they dont know what youre talking about.....NO PART FOR YOU!!!

I probably couldve done it, but i wasnt about to manually drive my AT car home(like 20 miles) and i didnt have enough to have it towed back either, so i really had no choice. Granted i probably couldve dug up a TCU on my own but he wouldve tried to have charged me to put it in.

I'd charge an hour diag time and atleast another half hour to install the tcu. If it was a good customer I'd do an hour all together. Then 60% over cost for the TCU. If it was easy everyone would do it.

Well, if the car was drivable or sitting in front of my house, i wouldve done it. I wasnt about to risk completey killing my tranny, or making it worse, by trying to save $30.

Not to mention, theres no guarantee i wouldve been able to find one on my own for as cheap as he did.
