He should have called it off....He drove a crown vic against a damn bike...Retards. Cops in tx dont even try. When my friend had his busa they would have some runs all the way down to waxahachie and around the whole dallas area just hauling ass around midnight to around sometime mid late at night. He had some good stories. They finally got stopped one night but they got a road block in one of the counties they rode through crazy mofos.

Well...in a way why the fuck is a motorcycle operator considered innocent in this case?

He should be held liable for them as well. Why do people run when they see flashing lights...getting a ticket is allot better than serving time in jail..

Well if you have a 100+hp vehicle in a 400lbs chassis.......there's little chance you'll get either.

But I doubt he'll be innocent, he'll be charged with something.

I hardly doubt he should be liable for the accidents......although he was the instigator.

True I am sorry admit that this is the cops fault. IF the motorcyclist caused it it would be another story but in this case the COP caused it. Yes the motorcyclist was breaking the law but the cop did NOT have correct judgement at all in this scenario. Sad to see something like this happen from some stubborn officers that just cant give up a chase. But then there is also the andrenalin involved in chases that can cause wrong judgement.

Man I don't about you...but I sure as hell wouldn't run, I'd take the ticket like a man.

Fuck running...you have more to lose if you do.

It sucks the cop was negligent on his part but sometimes in a situation such as that you don't have time to think...and your concerned about is the instigator who could take out anyone in his path...and unfortunately the tables turned on the cop.

I mean who's to say..the people never really moved when they saw the flashing lights or heard the siren..I can't tell you how many times I've seen people not move out of the way of an emergency vehicle.

                    :edit:

Odd I was just going to mention maybe the pure rush of adrenaline caused his poor judgment as well.

Ok......so poor judgement on the cop because he had an adrenaline rush....

Guess who got the bug first?

I mean, of COURSE he should stop.......

I ran from the cops in the past....no biggie.

would I do it now? no.

Like I said, I don't think the biker should be liable for the accidents that happened, BUT he was the instigator, he should be at LEAST charged with his crime of fleeing from the scene.

Tell you what, they are both responsible. But here is a good real world solution to the high speed chase problem.

The US Government should equip every municipality with a helicopter. They could even use old Vietnam surplus Hueys for dirt cheap. Each chopper gets a sniper with a high powered rifle.

If you run, and they catch you, you get shot dead. Then we don't have worry about the cops needing to chase in high speed pursuits. And I bet $10 that within 1 year 90+% of all high speed chases cease to be. Why? Because dead people can't run, and those who are still alive will usually think twice about it.

Overall, a few people would have to sacrifice themselves, but long term, fewer good lives would be lost.

I like that solution a lot better. Helps keep the gene pool in check too.

Well escaping on a bike is 10x easier than a car. Reasons?

                          1. Lighter
                          2. 600cc/1000cc will easily outrun a cop down it two gears and your gone.
                          3. Bikes can top out pretty quick compared to a crown vic thats a boat.

Biker should be charged with something but most of it should be blamed on the cop for causing such a big accident and lack of judgement. If he let him go he might have prevented the accident and let the motorcyclist fly into something and nail himself.

well it doesnt really state that the guy was running. when ur traveling at over a hundred m/hr u might never even see a cop "trying" to catch up. if the cop started to chase him from a stop or even a slower speed, by the time u would see him he would have been following for miles. in many states cops dont even chase bikes for these reasons, the pros dont out weight the cons. the reason the cop is being charged and not the bike, is because the bike wasnt involved in the crash. he might have been speeding but the cop was the one that turned it in to a chase and caused the avoidable accident.
