Best way to remove rivets/welds from stock seat sliders?

I need to do this in order to have sliding brackets for my new racing seats I want to install. I was able to remove most of the rivets on the sliders using a Cobalt drill bit, but then it broke. Anyone have any other ideas on how I can get those brackets out and just have the sliders to weld bars onto? Would heating up the weld break it free? b/c then my friend whose going to weld new bars onto the stock seat sliders can do that.

yeah thats exactly what I did, I drilled just deep enough to go through the bracket, but its still not budging. The drilling worked on the rivets, those eventually gave way, but If I pry any harder, it'll bend the slider frame, then the roller can't move freely anymore.

But would heating the bracket up somehow get the welds to break free easier? I've got a soldering iron that gets up to 900 degrees if that helps?

that's such a badass car.
its really cool to see it drive by in traffic, and just marvel at all the work done to it.

npor - yeah I remembered it from when you linked that thread on here, I just had to go through the 50+ pages to find it again, you should introduce yourself to that guy, I mean if there was a guy putting a k20 in a civic in my town I'd find that mf'er and ask if I could drive it!
