Who else hates just the thought of this? I hate having to worry about getting accepted to a college I'm going to have to shell out major money for anyway. Its so much to worry about, specialy when others have already been accepted and I just submitted my application.

How are your grades? How about your SAT scores?
I had no money to go anywhere but community college when I got out of highschool. I paid my own way through there (and I was too lazy to get scholarships for anything). I thankfully had help from my mom for my last 2 years at Rutgers. My grades and SAT scores would've allowed me to go to a better school, and scholarships probably could've made it happen...
If you have an A/B average and 1200+ on the SATs, you can probably go anywhere you want... provided you were involved in some activities and such. B/C average and 1000+ on the SATs, look for a mid-level college, or even a community college to get your grades up. C/D average and 700+ on the SATs... Community college all the way.
I have to say, though... my experience with community college was more challenging than Rutgers. Granted the school I went to is rated one of the best in the country...

^^ wow deev the community colleges around here suck.
and as for F22HB.... Don't stress to much I applied to law school in June and got accepted in the end of july for classes starting in Mid August. My grades were good and my LSATs were average.
But like Travis said apply to as many schools as possible.

My sat's were great though, specialy in math.
I'm going for automotive design engineering and not many schools offer stuff like that. Hopefully I get accepted or it'll be off to community college or somthin... idk. I just hope I get in.
With high math scores, you'll have a good chance of getting into any sort of engineering program. Math has always been my weak point (until my recent GRE exam... I did better than I did on the verbal! )
What schools are you looking at?

980 on my SAT w00t and I scored pretty high on my ACT I forgot since its been a whiel since I checked it. My GPA in high school was a 3.3. But when I applied for SIUc for the first time I got rejected since 1. I sent my application late. 2. My GPA was low. Anyway so I went to TSTC for 2 years they accepted me right away lol didnt even take but 3 days. So I went there for 3 years taking all sorts of nonsense and finally transferred to SIUc last year and now after this year I should be done with a possibility of 2 bachelors and a minor lol. I guess all those extra classes at TSTC helped me out but why would I need a bachelors in technical resource management lol. I am still clueless to what that is. Anyway just keep your head up. Always have a backup plan thats the best way. If you can get the class list you need for the college and you dont get in. Go take them at a community college or something that will transfer over. So when you finally get accepted you dont have to take those and you go directly into your major if you know what it is already.

As a senior accounting major, I'll say this: Enjoy your freshman and sophomore years because junior year brings you to reality with real college classes and prepares you to either do very well or fail out of senior year. I made the worst grades my junior year and learned my lesson, so far this year has been better than any for some reason with a 3.84 GPA last semester, maybe because I'm finally learning something that interests me. BTW Management and Marketing majors are hated by us Accounting majors because of the ridiculous difference in work required to make the same GPA.
If you enjoy a social life, don't bother with the medical, architecture, engineering, accounting, or finance fields. lolMy Member's Ride Thread

See, ive been running into the same problems lately....I graduated high school in 03 and have just been working since then. Id like to go to some kind of vo-tech or automotive school, but i dont think my high school GPA will help me.
I graduated HS with like a 3.8 or 3.9. Only got 2 Ds and C my entire time. Otherwise i was A/B average. Most of my "extra" classes outside of math/history/science, etc, were culinary/art based. I dont think any vo-tech school will look at my HS GPA since its been so long. I may just end up having to apply for grants or student loans.
I still freak out at whether or not I'll be able to go and still having to go back to school...
