lol i was going through a burgerking drive thru when i notice across the street there was a cb7 sitting in beside the diesel pumps so i'm like .... i tll the lady what i want and go to the second window to pick up my food and look back over to the guy at the pump ... and i see a disapating cloud of smoke .... th guy gets out of the car pops the hood ........... lol i felt bad for the car more than the guy .... what kind of person put deisel fuel in a car that has "unleaded GASOLINE ONLY" on the gas cap

i dont think that can happen, to prevent dumb ppl from filling up with the wrong fuel the nossel for deisel is bigger and doesnt fit. i would think you would fiure it out then that, that fuel doesnt go in that car.

Yeah, diesel pump nozzles ar bigger than Regular gasoline nozzles. At least they are here

My step-dads drives a truck and he said that was one of the things he learned when he first started driving, is that the nozzles are bigger for that reason.

ANd even if for whatever reason, he did get diesel in his "unleaded only", wouldnt it take longer than a few seconds for it to get inside the engine and cause so much damage that he has to pull over and lift the hood...

Haha. Same thing happened to a girl I went to highschool with!

She snuck out one Saturday night when she was 15 to go to a party. Of course, she took her moms brand new (at that time) BMW 5-series. Everything would have been fine, except the car broke down about a mile from her house because........ she put diesel in it.

owned lol. HOW do you not tell it is an OBVIOUSLY bigger nozzle than the filler neck. Unless ofcourse you are drunk or high or both. In either case you shouldn't be on the road in the first place. Sucks to be on the same road as those idiots.

No the fuel pump primes and if they are empty enough the lines will fill with diesel and all it takes is the motor to crank to shoot diesel in the combustion chamber to make it stall out and not run. Thats why he saw a puff of smoke then he came out.

He probably got diesel cuz it was cheaper? Out of towners? Wanna get high?

I had a friend that demanded a gas attendant to put diesel in his Legacy. Definitely not a diesel car... but he didn't feel like waiting in line. When the guy objected, he said "JUST DO IT!"

i had it happen to a woman she broke up with the bf and he put diesel in it she didn't know and yes the bf was charged with damaging private property..........but he paid 1200 for us to fix it

Actually, most people that pump gas are Middle Eastern, Indian, American teenagers, or mechanics that also run a garage.


I've always heard that NJ has lower gas prices and full service to help offset the ridiculous cost of insurance.


Full service is nice, but it's a pain when you want premium gas in a 92 Accord... I have to watch every time to make sure they aren't putting regular in there! Oddly enough, the guys that don't seem to speak English NEVER get it wrong. The Americans do about 30% of the time... In the GTP as well (which has a label right on the gas door... PREMIUM FUEL ONLY!)

The prices aren't that much cheaper anymore, though. I suppose they were when a few cents seemed like a lot. Now, there's not that much difference between $3.13 and $3.03. I go to Wawa, where they have 92 octane. It's what my car was tuned on, so it's fine... and quite a bit cheaper than most other stations (up to 20 cents at times!)
