I got a gift and its called a Valentine one radar detector, what is it?

yeah I got a brand spankin new valenine one radar detector version 1.8 in the box. is it any good. well, I tested it out today, and hmm, I for some reason picked up the KA band from a crown vic wich was sitting beside the interstate 3 minutes before I actually saw him, how do I know it was 3 miles you say, hmm I was going 60+ and it started chiming 3 min. before I passed him. is this thing any good or should I thorw it out in the trash, lol . o yeah by the way I neve leave it in the car. just an FYI.

for anyone that owns these things, have you ever gotten a speeding ticket with it? or has it ever failed picking up a signal that was obviously there? cuzz I just got it 2 days ago and by the way its performing for me it seems impossible to get a ticket with this, I literally took it on a highway and drove by the known local speed traps and I actually picked them up on my radar a minute or two at least going 55-60mph before you can even see their cars. this thing is awsome. if you dont own one or if your a skeptic, I was too but thats wrong, this thing doesnt even come close to a cobra, escort etc. its a whole new world of protection. highly recomended, so take your lead foot a** online and buy one, pays for itself. and this is just with 2 days of experience with it. if you own a radar detector, you notice that sometimes that a cop passes by and your radar det. doesnt do crap? well I dont know the difference with the V1 but I pcik up every cop I pass and I actually kept a number on how many I've passed without flaw, 4 state patrol, 6 city cops, and 3 sheriff dept. one was a dodge charger sheriff.
I know some people say it has too much false alarm, what good radar detector doesnt? if you dont want false alarm, have a buddy of yours drive 2 miles ahead of you and let you know if theres a cop.lol

if the cops don't have they're radar on, it won't pick them up. My Escort Passport 8500 x50 doesn't alway pick them up, b/c if you have no radar signal, then it doesn't do shit. But I think I really want to get the Escort 9500i, its got a built in GPS chip that tells you how fast you're going and can memorize specific false alarms and eliminate them completely.

I had one before it was stolen. They're not foolproof, but they do offer the best protection you can buy. Don't be lulled into thinking that you'll never get a ticket while using the V1 though.

Hey someone with common sense. A radar wont save your ass if the cop doesnt turn on his radar. He covered the rest. You can have the best radar but a cop can be behind you without his radar/laser on. Either way they best weapon is still common sense.
