Anyway, now that I'm looking for something else, I find myself frustrated. I have a BA in psychology with a minor in childhood studies, and an AS in business management/marketing with a focus on computer technology. Great, I have two degrees... and each one is worthless without one degree further (a BS in business or a Masters in psych would land me a decent job). As it is, it seems like all I can do is retail, foodservice, or low-level care for the disabled. Unless, of course, I want to get into real-estate, sales, or the military.

As you can probably guess, none of that thrills me! I know I won't find a counseling position (my ideal job) with my current education. I can't teach... yet... that's the short-term goal, but next fall is the soonest that will happen!

So, I need to find something decent. I can deal with a salary in the high 20s to low 30s. I don't need to get rich, I just need a stable paycheck and a job that doesn't drive me nuts so I can do what it takes to become a teacher (from there, grad school... and eventually my own practice).

I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'm in no position to "work my way up", unfortunately, as I have 3 cars, a mortgage, a dog, and a number of other stupid bills... I've gotta start somewhere in the middle, wherever I go!

So, if you work for a company that might have a location in South Jersey, let me know. If your parents work for a company that might have a location in South Jersey, let me know. Please shoot me any ideas, hookups, recommendations, suggestions, etc... I feel like I'm in a rut, and I need some fresh ideas!

Deev, Try your local Auto zone. I applied for a crap job just to get my by. They started asking questions about car's and what does what. Now I'm a manager starting this coming Saturday. Granted its only $500 a week to start but after 90 days He told me it will go up greatly.

I'm hoping to go back to school, actually... I just can't afford it at the moment. I need a job that will pay the bills NOW before I can look to go to school!

Being a truck driver... eh... I'm no good at driving big things, and those long days would kill any chance of me getting back to school. Plus, by the time I get my CDL, I'll have lost my house already!

If I could find a Japanese company, I'd love to work there for the exposure to the culture. I don't know of any that aren't restaurants, though (and I dont' fit in enough to work there!)

I could deal with $500 a week... that's pretty much the minimum, though. I was making that much in a day previously!

I so wish I could... Dr. Phil is a quack! He's a pretty big dude, though.

I wish I was qualified to give advice like he does... I'm probably MORE qualified than he is, but whatever... I don't have the degree for it

I frequently see position postings around the holidays looking for letter carriers at the local post office - they tend to pay about $17.50 an hour. Perhaps there are non-seasonal positions as well.

Werd. What do they do there, investments and insurance? I'm actually going to be in Marlton tonight (my mom lives there... 20 minutes or so from me... the rest are well over an hour away) What do you do there?

NJ cost of living is fairly high, so it'd be nice if that made the pay rate high as well!

Integrated ads into the forum! Although annoying as hell, you could make a bit of dough. Probably not enough to live off of though lol.

I'd need to get certified to teach in PA... I'll have to look into what it takes to do that if I go that route. I wish I could just teach without certification! I probably could do it at a private school, but they rarely pay well at all... and many of them require a teaching certification anyway (not all... I have a friend that's looking to teach private without one...).

I had Google Adsense... and screwed it up (when I crashed the DX, I clicked on my own ads, and another member clicked a ton for me as well..) It seemed as if it would pay a few hundred a week, and that was awesome. But I lost everything I earned, and they won't take me back No other ad program seems to be doing nearly as well. That Clicksor crap paid like $30 a month, IF that! Plus, it made the site less enjoyable to use... which isn't worth only part of what it costs to run it each month! When I have the donation link in my sig, you guys take way better care of me than Clicksor ever did! (not Adsense level, but I don't need that... donations are to keep the site going, not to pay my mortgage!)

The ebay store might prove to be useful. I need to push that more, and make the links more readily available. I get a cut of ebay's profits every time someone that has visited my link buys something within a week of their visit (as long as they don't clear their cookies or go to anyone else's store). It's not a ton of money per sale (like $1.50 for a $120 item or something...) but it can add up. It might be able to cover the cost of the site soon... It's ALMOST paid for the software I had to buy to set it up!

I wish I could live off of this forum, though. I spend more time here than anywhere else, and this matters to me more than most jobs.

Cool. I'll have to check them out and see if there's something I'm right for. It'd certainly be better than retail!

Speaking of retail... I'm going to check out Home Depot and Lowes today. I think they pay well... but you can see I'm just brimming with excitement...
