          Not all D's are sohc.

Either way, by the look of the manifold, it looks more like a d16y8 than a z6.

the ZC is not a D

              Yes it is.

              D16A1, D16A3, D16A8, D16A9 and D16Z5

              All DOHC.

I know because I've personally worked on all of those engines.

Not true. The DOHC engine in the first USDM Integra was a D series. And some parts ARE interchangeable.

Also, it is clearly NOT a D16Y8. The Z6 had a more uniformly log shaped plenum, while the Y8 is more bulbous. That is a Z6 plenum. Another sure fire way to tell if it stock, is to look for the IAT. The Z6 has it on the #1 intake runner a la CB7, whereas the Y8 used a seperate IAT that plugs into the rubber intake tube.

I knew it wasnt a B-series. I had a brain fart for a minute cuz me and my buddy were arguing over what kind of engine it is. This chick bought the civic with the D in it for $400. Says VTEC is on a switch...

Anyway, i dont want a civic or a D-series. My a6 is pushing more hp than that thing

I was just wandering cuz she wouldnt tell me. Says shes gonna do a K-swap.

and yes, D-series can be DOHC and SOHC. The late 80s integra's saw the DOHC D16a1. The asian versions of the 88-91 CRX Si saw the a8/a9. Same as the 90-93IntegraLS/RSZC.

I imagine those numbers are probably a little skewed, but nonetheless.

a D-series isnt that bad at all. pulls hard but no torque. i love how u can just whine them out and it will take it all day. i got me a spare motor and tranny in my garage. if anything happens to my b18b i got me a back up

                                wow

i never knew D's had DOHC variants.

I thought the ZC was the only DOHC non-VTEC that came in the civics and integras.

So the ZC IS a D.
