If you're thinking "library", Many of them don't carry current releases. Its a completely valid idea.

Ummmm.... the library here in Chattanooga gets books in about a week after they are released. My grandmother sometimes "rents" books at the library before they are even released in the book stores (She's been a member for 35 years or so).

Or you could just buy a hardback copy of the book. Read it within 30 days. Return it. Get a new one!!
Just not a paperback because it's a little easier to tell when a paperback book has been read.
