Scottrade (which I've recently switched to) has a 2k minimum to invest. Doesn't have to be a significant amount. You can start off small until you get the hang of it, its what I did.

If you want, I can offer my advices to you, sackings or any member wanting financial tips.

My dad has taught me, "Have your money work for you and not the other way around."

Thanks, it didn't make a good DD for the New England weather though.

Right on, how is the aviation passion?
Good, although winter weather has been costing me pay. Other than that, just trying to avoid the heat seeking missles with little propellers and people inside!

That sucks, is this a seasonal occurrence or is it because of the economical reasons? I have no idea on flight stuff. All I know is that AZ gets good weather, much more pleasant than the weather I get where we have to layer up on clothing to go out and where we take a shovel and relocate frozen water particles from one side to another. Did I mention I can make the cars slip and slide unintentionally? Avoiding heat seeking missiles are always a good thing, I'm sure your passengers are happy about that.

          LOL! It is seasonal.

Not all of Arizona is hot. We are at about 5,000' MSL, and it has been well below freezing at night, and often into the day.

Just this morning, we had to deice the planes because they were covered in ice.

The biggest issue we have here, is that anytime we get weather here, it is usually either a T storm, which NOBODY flies in, except those crazy ass Hurricane Hunters, or there is icing aloft. Since ice cubes don't fly very well, we stay out of it. We had a system move through a couple days ago, and are supposed to get another one tomorrow. Hopefully it will be gone by Monday.

I may also hit you up about some trading advice. I have some investments, but they are not under my thumb. I know a lot of the basics, I suppose it is just that initial weariness though.

Stay safe during the bad weather.

Hit me up anytime, I'd be glad to give and share my advices. For answers I don't know I can have my dad help since he has been giving me advice.

LOL! "There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots. There are however no old, bold pilots."

              Words to live by.

I may do that sometime. I think I am just afraid to take that initial plunge. On my own. I have retirement etc, but I want to dabble a little on my own.

If you aren't confident enough try out the game.

Starting investing is like car modding, you're afraid to take initiative but you'll get the hang of it. You're a clever guy and already have the advantage of knowing more info that most people already.

I used to use MSNBC's portfolio manager. That one is really cool too, but I didn't really manage it long term enough. I should go do that, but man I am so busy. Of course, I will be busy when I die too, so that isn't really a valid excuse.
