3 bedrooms full living room/kitchen etc
and a built basement! for $800

idk if you want to go to cali, they have some SHITTY car laws there. no tint, you have to have CARB certified everything, they'll crush your car for racing, smog is bad, gas is expensive, rains a lot, roads are worse, traffic is unbearable. Try looking at AZ haha, all you have to worry about is your A/C bill in the summer and drinking plenty of water.

You have to remember that the areas with a cheaper cost of living also have less job potential. You might find a good place for $500 a month, but you'll have a job making $8 an hour.

that only gets you a studio in NYC, a very small studio. when i was working/renting in NYC, my building was subsidized by NYPresbyterian, so rent was only $1350 for a 1/bdrm.

but wayne, i'd think things over really hard.. really, really hard. you say you're financially stable; if you have the money to cover rent for 1 year, plus an extra $200-400/month for misc, then you're stable IMO.
