    Ugh, *cough* asthma sucks

When I was around five and a half, six-ish years old, I was diagnosed with asthma.

I used to have it really bad when i was 13/14. I was hospitalized, had a tube stuck down my throat to help me breathe.. bleh.

In recent years though, I've outgrew my asthma with few episodes or "attacks"

and in the past about year, nothin'... So I've been pretty greatful and happy about that...

But this morning, yeesh, I had one of the worst episodes i've had in a while. I mean, i took my medicene and am not in any immediate danger. I just can't stop coughing and my chest is tight, and im spitting up yellow shit.

So my dad wants me to stay home for a good bit, and if I get better, he'll let me go to school. He just wants to make sure I'm ok.

It just hasn't happened in so long, I wanted to kinda rant about it.

Have a good rest of your day, CBers!

    *cough*

My Aunt died of an asthma attack at 19, she was in perfect health besides that. It's a serious issue for some people, though others use it as a crutch(not saying the OP does) and some are just hypocondraics about it.

coughing up sputum is horrible. Sorry you had to go through that, along with the tightness in the chest.

At least you are not like this girl who gets admitted to our hospital once every 2-3mo. She gets put on helium and oxygen to help her breath. She once got intubated in the field before she was brought to the ER.

My whole life, I've never had asthma, and just last summer I had some pretty bad symptoms...short breath, yellow mucus, tight chest, hospital visits...the whole package.

Then I left the city and its crappy smog for a small northernly town...asthma is gone...its like magic.

lol, i dont want any ones sympathy (but I really appreciate the kind wishes!)

i was just kinda, dunno, letting it out.

My grandmom actually died of an asthma attack, and because of that, my parents are VERY paranoid for me...

same, i use to break out like wh0a around cats and dogs and now i love them.

i do get a bit huffy when i sleep in an enclosed carpeted room with a cat roaming around.
