get a late model fbody t56. 93-2002 f bodies had them... Rock that 6 gear

but will that bolt directly up to my 305?

TH350 or built TH400 all the way. But if its just a daily as I recall the old fox body mustangs ran the t5 trans but I dunno if the housings line up. Those cars are easy to find in yards since they usually are in there. A trans rarely goes bad unless its been damaged itself or abused previously.

yeah they have solid transmissions thats for sure.

With the T-56 you'll need a custom bellhousing. That adds to the cost of the swap but you'd have a nice 1-3 set of gears with two overdrive gears, the 6th being a .63 gear. My friend's cammed 2002 SS making 400whp still gets 27mpg on the highway with that transmission.

But if you still wanted a direct-replacement T-5 then just hit up forums. You own a Camaro so it shouldn't be a far stretch to think you are the member on a Camaro forum.
