Just ever wondered about streetracing?

Ever wondered how did all that shit get started? Ever wondered where did all the hype come from. Why do people decide tor ace other people for goals such as money respect,friendship. Getting to know new people, new enemies potential rivals and sluts all around. Or jsut something to do over the weekend thats got you so hyped you just had to go out there and see whats all the hooplah about just to show off the car for whatever reason.

How did the beefs between domestics and imports get started? Its all strange to me and how police got into it but we all know that because of the money ,people crashing their cars for trying to get away,just plain straight up nothing else better to do, or just unaware of their surroundings in the end hurting other motorsits pedestrians etc. time and tiem again I realize where did all the time go im getting too old for this shit does anyone else feel the same way???

Streetracing started long before our generation, thats forsure. People been doin it forever. As for imports vs domestics, idk. Just like racism.

The origin of street racing comes from the rum runners souping up their cars to outrun the cops, then they would race each other on the roads for fun and money. Everyone started getting involved and it blew up from there.

I'm sure people even raced in horse and buggy.....but the street racing of today you can thank the rum runners an good ol' American muscle.

some, if not most, do it for the rush. ive been street racing before and its fun. that rush of going fast. the blood pumping. its fun to be racing someone to see how you match up against their car. your blood, sweat and tears compaired to the next guy. then others do it so they can get the money from it.

but i mainly do it for the fun of it and(like i stated above), the rush of going fast in a car.

i know it mainly started with the domestics. back then in the tims of the Novas and SS Cameros and Mustangs, they were doing it long before imports were even veiwed as tuner cars or even cars with good gas mileage.

people used to run because they found performance parts and loved the way cars go fast. then they would race eachother and it became a sport. today people do it on the street for rep. the faster you are, the more reputation you got. then people look up to you. in 2001 when the F&F came out, the high performance market went balistic!! everyone wanted fast cars, nitrous kits, neon kits, turbos, etc. and then the streets got really crazy. thats why cops crack down on street racing these days. it gets worst every year. cops saying bs that us street racers cause to many accidents and deaths, when drinking and driving and not paying attention on the road causes so many deaths a year, it looks like street racing isnt even close or even on the list when it comes to that.

Yea, even when some random car revs to race me when im cruising, I have since enough not to do it in a city. But on an empty highway, or long service road, I would do it...
