getting internet to gaming console in a different room than router/modem

ok, now that I finally have the cashflow, I'm gona get XBOX Live.

The problem is, my DSL modem is in the living room, far away from my game room. It is a wireless modem.

how would I go about sending the signal to the room, besides using a thousand feet of ethernet cable?

You could use one of these:

Or it is possible to use one of these, but not guaranteed:

we have a netgear setup in our house.

modem connects to a 4 port thingie that plugs into our electrical outlet. the other 3 ports are for the other desktops.

upstairs we have another 4 port electrical plug, our wireless router connects via ethernet cable.

so essentially, you have internet by electrical power.

Those ones seems to be the most promising so far. It's the only ones I've read that has good reviews.

What I don't get is, what is there to setup on the pc? Wouldn't it basically be like a laptop trying to get wireless access?

              So another question.

Say I get one of those, can I buy another router and get the signal from that, then connect the router to another pc?

well i think we could start with what router you have because some have more range than others. If the router you have now isnt reaching then you could try a different one. I have the linksys 150N and its range is pretty good. I get good signal three rooms away. If you need one thats gonna reach further than try the next model or two in the N series like the 300N or the next one up.

Theres also special gaming routers that are supposed to be good too....

It's not expensive, I just didn't have extra money to throw away.
