Best Places to Search for a New Car

I'm looking to buy a new car, and wondering where I should be looking. When I bought my Cb7, I bought it out of the newspaper, but that was 9 years ago. How do you cool kids do it today, to get the best deal and selection?

A NEW car, or a "new to you" car?

        For "new to you" used:
Craigslist is good, autotrader is good. Making friends with someone with auction access is GREAT. Driving around looking for cars being sold in front yards is a great way as well. Find a good car on a rarely-traveled back road, and you might get a great price. Especially if it's an older car.

You can try ebaymotors too. I wouldn't suggest buying one over eBay....but you might be able to find something local to go take a look at.

You poor souls. I have a website run by a TV station (mostly news) that has local classifieds for my whole region. Very popular.

I bought my Bird my car on ebay. Of course i went through a dealer. Paid the dealer, flew to TX and drove back to FL.

No problems..except a coil pack went out and the drive home but those are a know problem.

Of course, pictures sometimes can hide flaws..and engine problems.

I'm trying to sell my sub on KSL- so far nothing.

But I'd prefer to get the car directly from the owner. There's nothing cooler than just happening upon the car that you want. Drive around for a few hours, check out all the empty lots near stores. Some dude was selling an '05 Evo a few blocks away from me.
