I'm looking to buy a new car, and wondering where I should be looking. When I bought my Cb7, I bought it out of the newspaper, but that was 9 years ago. How do you cool kids do it today, to get the best deal and selection?

A NEW car, or a "new to you" car?
For "new to you" used:
Craigslist is good, autotrader is good. Making friends with someone with auction access is GREAT. Driving around looking for cars being sold in front yards is a great way as well. Find a good car on a rarely-traveled back road, and you might get a great price. Especially if it's an older car.

I bought my Bird my car on ebay. Of course i went through a dealer. Paid the dealer, flew to TX and drove back to FL.
No problems..except a coil pack went out and the drive home but those are a know problem.
Of course, pictures sometimes can hide flaws..and engine problems.

But I'd prefer to get the car directly from the owner. There's nothing cooler than just happening upon the car that you want. Drive around for a few hours, check out all the empty lots near stores. Some dude was selling an '05 Evo a few blocks away from me.
