this all started cause im gettin nfs prostreet. i want to run it off my computer and play it on my 1080p tv. so i need something good.

the 8800 GT is cheaper faster and has more ram then the 8800GTS go read up on it. DEFINATLY GET THAT

i'd have to tell you to go with the x1950.

i've had bad experiences with nvidia cards in the past; and i've had an e-vga card fail on my last tower. yes, these experiences can't speak for nvidia cards as a whole - or e-vga, either - but personally i haven't had any issues with any of my ATI cards.

ive got a gts and supposedly the gt blows it out of the water and is cheaper, slimmer, quieter, and uses less power.

true, unless he doesn't have vista. in which case, dx10 isn't even an issue at all since it isn't supported on XP.

i have a biostar mobo, athlon 64 x2 5600+(2.8), 2gb ram... and now the 8600gts... which i will definitely be returning. i bought it from fry's to just try out its performance, but whatever i get will be from newegg.

i dont care about better for the money. in the $300 and under range, i want to get the best card i can. it will save me from upgrading later.

what about the 8800gt makes it better than the 8800gts? is a gt with 512mb faster than a gts with 320????


and i am still running xp.
