My car is a fucking hybrid what is going on!?!?!

Ok so this is getting on my nerves....

Most of you know my car, if not i know it as a 1993 SE sedan. It has all the things that made the 93 se a 93 se.

F22a6, rear discs, Smooth Beige leather, Geneva Green Pearl, and the most striking feature...passenger airbag(which iirc, was the only trim to come with a passanger side airbag)

    So everything screams 93 se....

carfax told me i had a 92 EX-R...i was new to the game then and just thought it was cool lol....come to find out months later, the EX-R was only available in Canada iirc. So i thought hmmm a typo somewhere.

OK so today i registered on Honda.com(you guys should do it, they tell you about recalls and service checkups and you can backorder owners manuals etc)

I copy and paste the VIN from Geico.com for my car since im not at home and i dont have it memorized and Honda.com tells me its a 1992 LX that was Bordeaux red with grey cloth......

    OMFG wtf?!?!?!

like im embarrassed that after owning it for almost 3 years that i dont know what the fuck i own.....

i mean if someone crashed a 92 Lx why would they rebuild it as a 93 se lol?!?!?

    Who does that?!?!?!? lol

Im just confused....i guess in the end it really doesnt matter because its 93 all over but id kinda like to know what it is.

Maybe i should take it to Honda....

you probably just messed up on a character or two in the vin.

also, you might have done the same with the insurance, seeing as how you just copy and pasted it.

You know I would normally agree but I KNOW the carfax was for the correct vin.

Ill check when I get back to Fla but I know something isn't right with this vin.

Also the carfax said that my car had been exported to Venezuela in 1996 but it never said it was imported back in. Fishy shit huh?

I dk I guess ill update this thread sat when I get home.

Maybe your car was used for a huge drug smuggling deal. They drove it back from Venezeula with 300 lbs of cocaine, stripped it down so it would never be recognized again. Then found a parts car, used that vin and put all the SE parts on it and sold it for drugs. It's a thought.

Either you messed up the VIN# or someone swapped the VIN# on the car. For example.. it was stolen and somebody put a different VIN# on it. You have a 93 SE... no one would go through that much trouble.. I don't think.. Either you typed it wrong or something went down with your car before you got it.

Do all the VINs around the car match up?

Run the VIN number on the fire wall. just to the right of the fuse box.

Someone could have swapped the dash and didnt swap the vin tag.

That will at least tell you what the shell was from the factory.

look at the VIN breakdowns on CB7tuner... you know, the threads that tell about what each numeral means?

                            that should provide an answer

Na i mean i know mine was made in Japan(JHM) and ive run it through carfax and Honda.com and one says 92 EXR and the other 92ex red/gray interior....neither are correct....my door jamb sticker says feb/92 but i have a pass airbag which if im correct only the 93 se had....so why would anyone go through all that work to convert a 92 ex/exr to a 93 se...doesnt make sense...i just think some shady shit went on with my car and now im stuck with a weirdo hybrid.

                              My car rocks.
