    Days worked at job

Ok i started this new job, its not to bad, pays ok. But i have been forced to week 21 straight days without a day off. And i work overnight and some days i work 12 hr rather then 8hr.

Is working this many days without a day off illegal in labor law? I looked but never find much. My friends say 10 days is the most but i still looking. ANd this is a Union but im not in it yet.

Can anyone help or have this problem.

i get $14. Hell no not worth it i cant even spend time with my family. You get .50 cent raise every 5 months until you max out to like 15 something. The old contract started the workers at $20, but this is a new tier 2 thing they started to save money.

time and a half after 40 hours a week? double time on sunday?

if so your s2k fund will fill up quick heh.

but yes, i believe there is a law about so many days without a day off. not sure if its 10. somewhere around there.

i know at my previous job we worked 12 days straight and nothing was said or done about it. so it may be 12. atleast in PA.

Yup time and a half and double time, but i rather just do 40 or like 48 and have a peace of mind. Who wants to wake up everyday and go to work.

Up here you MUST have at least an 8 hour break between shifts, unless you agree upon a shorter time if needed. After 44 hours we got over time, but we were students and they fucked us over. Everywhere else it's overtime for 40+ hours.

you women. try working 2 months straight, 12 hour days 7 days a week during the 100 degree summer months. we routinely work 50+ days straight. lately, i've said fuck it, work my 50 hours and take sundays off and leave at 1 on saturdays. working all the time sucks and just isn't worth it to me. life isn't about that. if i gotta deal with driving a cb7 instead of a porsche, then i'm fine with that.

if i have a sick kid, i'm damn sure gonna sit home with her too. fuck the job, there are 100 more just like it.

Legally, 10 days in a row is the most you can work without a day off. It's a federal labor law. Just like any labor law, it's only effective if enforced. If neither you nor your employer choose to report it, who's to know? If you really feel like you need your days off, gather the necessary info and bring it up with your employer. If you need to know what the actual laws involved are, call the US Dep[artment of Labor at 1-866-4-USA-DOL.
