Mmmm.....love the feeling of a fresh oil change

Ok, so that may sound weird. But, I just had my oil changed in the CB and I love the feeling of a fresh oil change. I notice the car running a lot better and smoother and overall it just feels good. Anyone else?

Just because it's dark doesn't mean it's bad.

It still has its lubricating properties and will have it for a few thousand miles.

Judging your oil by color is stupid.

You guys are just wasting your money.

true but how good are those lubricating properties??? if i put in a golden light brown oil, drive hard for 3-4k miles and that ish is DARK brown...im not gonna risk it on a hunch that the "lubricating properties" are still there and will be good for another 3k miles (while driving in the same manner).

ill change that ish out! but then again i pamper my engine and ill fork out the cash to keep her healthy to my standards.

that depends on the oil you use.

Mobil1 synthetic lasts ~15k miles, or so they claim. I'm sure it'll get dark as fuck after 4k.

Would you do an oil change then?

If so, then why the hell did you buy such an expensive oil in the first place if all you're gona do is throw your money away.

But like you said, to YOUR standards. Which, it's all in your head.

The lubricating properties still may be there, but YOUR conscience won't let you because the oil looks nasty.

lol, well mobil one states 15k miles... thats under "normal" driving conditions. i wouldnt classify my driving style as normal or most of the peoples on this board as "normal". most of us drive fairly aggressive. sure it can "last" that long...but who really goes 15k between oil changes?? Also, i doubt that the full synthetic is "dark as fuck" after just 4k. i dont change @ 3k ill go an extra few k before i changed it....but it kinda depends on how i was driving my car. ( i also dont use a FULL synthetic)

i buy my synthetic blend for its ability to protect against engine friction, especially at the higher rpms where the engine likes to live ( my engine at least). its supposed to be better lubrication/protection @ lower and higher temps, and definately for its supposed "ability" at resisting thermal and viscosity breakdown. this is of course in comparison to standard motor oil.

again...its much to do with peace of mind and personal preference. and ur are partially correct..u cant base ur oil change intervals purely on the color.

not all of us like to beat our cars to shit, and yes i do drive somewhat aggressively sometimes...

thats not the point. ok im done.
