Floor Jack Suggestions

Since I have lowered the CB I have had trouble getting it up in the air with my trusty old floor jack. Luckily I have been able to do most of the work at school on a lift. However I know I need to have something at home incase something happens and needs to be taken care of quick.. Today was my birthday so I have a little money and am looking for some suggestions on what Low-Profile Jack you have experience with.

Let me know the following:
1. Brand Name
2. Model #
3. Where to Buy
4. Price
5. Saddle Height (at lowest point)
6. Maximum lifting height
7. Overall Jack Weight

Also feel free to include any thoughts on ease of use and ANY problems you have had with it..

Feel free to post up the good and the bad.. I need to know what to buy and what to avoid.. Thanks in Advance..

go to walmart, get their $16 gm floor jack. it's a low profile one. i use it all the time, i also use some manual crank ones for extra protection.

I use a manual crank one from a civic to lift my car up high enough to fit the floor jack undernieth lol

Thats what I have been doing all summer.. It works but my jack is slowly slipping. It refuses to hold the car up for more then 30 seconds.. That makes getting it on to jack stands a little tricky.. It will hold for 30 seconds then slowly lowers itself down.. This is a 30+ year old jack so I figure it is time to upgrade a little bit..

I have heard some good things about Costco's Torin Aluminum Racing 1.5 Ton Jack, and have not heard much of anything about Harbor Freight's Low-profile jacks. Just want to get some more opinions and maybe some more options before setteling on it, make sure I am making the best of my money.

I initally was thinking Craftsman but just looking at the customer responses on their website there is not much good said when it comes to the jack lasting.. My current jack is a Craftsman but is 30+ years old and things were just made better back then..

I can attest for the Craftsman not lasting... Granted, it was sitting on my front porch for months... but it's leaking oil terribly. It won't lift all the way up now. I don't dare get under the car even for a second without stands.

I want to get a low profile crank jack. There are some out there that are very easy to use.

Ideally, no more then $100 but no more then $150 is looking more reasonable..

i got one for free off craigslist and it suprisingly fits under my car, even came with an extra o-ring :o

Every Craftsman aluminum jack I've come into contact with has broken.

My friend's has broke twice thus far. If you read the review on Sears's website, you can see a lot of people have problems with them.

if you look to the left of my car you can see my craftsman jack. (It's a low profile). I was really surprised to see it but one pump brings it up to the jack point and then it's easy pumping from there.

I've had it for a few months now and it's been fine. I had the lowest quality craftsman and that started leaking fluid through the seal but Sears gave me a credit and I bought this one.

Yeah, DON'T go with Craftsman. The first time Chris's broke it was the hydraulic function, and there was fluid leaking etc. The second time, although it is still functional, was the part that makes it switch from going up to going down. He has to use pliers to make it so it does that now.

Still looking for new suggestions or anything about the low-profile jacks that Harbor Freight has for sale..

I went down to Costco to look at their Torin Aluminum Racing 1.5 Ton Jack and they were out of stock so I will have to check back later..

If anyone has anything to add about either of the jacks that I mentioned or any other jack that hasn't been mentioned please post up.. Later
