oh wow you scared me there fishyman. i too am going for finance. the think about business field is that you got to start with a small pay job and gradually go where you want too.

if you thinking about master degree i would suggest risk managment. out of all of my friends who have finished for finance they all suggest risk managment for a master degree.

and it pays to have someone who works in a company to put a good word for you.

experience is a must. that is why every college student when they go at their third year they quit their jobs and start looking for interships. some of them are willing to work for free in some fields.<<<talk about getting fucked for the last 2 years of you college life.

What college is that risk management in? What's your friends doing now?

I've jumped from Computer to Accounting to Finance. Yes, business is so broad, yet at the same time, in the world no one says you have to stay within your field. I mean there's evident about that. I kinda wish I was in accounting, but to go straight route with it will drive me NUTS. My college years were not Cinderella 4 years. Instead I joined clubs, tried different things, and jumped around. I don't regret it, but the last 2 semesters I was very active and probably had one of the best times of my life. I did sign on with an internship and have finished it.

I am hoping to learn Japanese if I am to stay in Hawaii but I want to try the mainland as well.

We'll see. I think the best thing is being able to adapt and fluctuate.

Actually you do have to have some kind of intelligence to get a degree. You also have to work hard. What else is new? Stupid/lazy people dont get degrees or make good money, because they cant. They have more excuses than politicians.

Fishy, you are like everyone else. I'd like to know who doesn't have a hard time finding work these days with outsourcing and shady companies like Walmart monopalizing markets while fucking their employees. There is work out there, you just have to look harder.

anyways, my cousin makes about 300-400 a night in tips working at a pretty touristy restaurant in honolulu.

she made enough to pay for herself and her mom's trip to germany.
but then again shes a female, and they generally make more in tips :o

It took me 7 long months to find the job im in now after i graduated.

I got my BS in chemistry and im a product development chemist in a major skin care company.... Just keep looking and dont get depressed because these things take time. I would take a shitty job in the meantime though. But dont let it affect your job hunting for your dream job.....

Thanks for the insights and input. I think some of my friends settle easy and jump into banks and become big headed about being able to bridge instantly. There's nothing wrong with that I suppose, but I cannot stand that type. I've worked in offices, and the way banks start of college grads are pretty bad. Way too political and drama.

Financially, I am still alright, making and doing side things. I have an interview coming up, but many places are telling me they will take a few weeks with the cold selection of applicants.

I still continue to look though, but hope this upcoming interview will be a big step for me.
