He makes a very good point. Not from a cops perspective but from a person with a job's perspective. What kind of job is that? One that you wanna do. Personally, I think David Carruso does a good job of keeping that same mindset, on CSI:Miami. I know thats cheesy and cliched, but tis true. He doesnt do his job cuz it pays..he does it to make a difference in the world.

Yeah Mike, I am working on the beefing up part.. Started lifting weights and riding my mountain bike more recently.

I am thinking corrections first and then onto the PD (Police Department) or SO (Sheriff's Office).. Hopefully be a CO (Corrections Officer) here for Johnson County, either in Olathe or Gardner for a few years and that is a direct open door to the SO and should at least start to open more doors with some local PD's.

Most of the Corrections stuff in this area is low-medium security until you get up around Lansing or Leavenworth but then you are at the State and Federal levels.. Who know's maybe corrections will be my thing... I doubt it though, I want to be out working the beat, hopefully get on somewhere as a traffic or bicycle patrol..

I've already made a few contacts with local PD's (Lenexa, Shawnee, Overland Park). I would love to work in Shawnee, since I have lived here all my life and know the whole city like the back of my hand.. I know the majority of Lenexa until you get out west of K-7 in the new stuff then I am lost.. I have the Cousin with the SO in Iowa and my uncle is a Retired Chief for a PD in Iowa also so there is another possibility.. Who knows. Later

I used to wanna be a cop when i was a kid and i had a fascination for it. Still kinda do, but more the fast-paced, street-beat part. Plus, like He said in that vid...once you become a cop, its always "careful how mch you drink" or " hey dick tracy" and i dont want that. I dont run around breaking the law, but i do enough for it to be considered a conflict of interest.

I have respect for first responders in genral it's a hard thankless job to have
as a truck driver i have even gone as far as to thank the d.o.t officers that at time seem like all they are after is my wallet . there are alot of good men and women out there doing very hard jobs , so thank you..

Its different if you tried to be a lawyer/engineer/doctor, you failed so now you gotta do this, but if you voluntarily wanna do this, stop bitching about it, its your choice.
