Help with a name! How do you pronounce Ljubisa?

I do property inspections. I have to talk to someone named Ljubisa, and I have NO idea how to say that name, or if it's a man or a woman!

So, I Know we have some members here with some European heritage... help me out! I'm about to say "joo-BEE-za", but that could be WAY off! Not offending these people is key in my getting the necessary information from them!




In my searching, I've found that it seems to be a masculine Serbian name, and might be pronounced Lybisha... better?

It could be that one of the letters is silent, could be something pronounced like Lubisa or Hubisa (being that the JU makes it HOO) or it could also be Jubisa. go find someone who is serbian and ask them. ahah.

I second "joo-bis-uh" or "joo-beez-uh"

....but then again that "hu-bisa" might be it as well....Does it give you a last name? That way way you could be like, "I'm looking for mr/mrs _____.."

Yep thats what im thinkin. Some names from that part of the world are wierd like that.

lol, I think my grandfather has amongst the worst names as far as pronouncing goes in America-Ljubisa (the s is pronounced as a hard sh, and the lj is like ly, if anyone understands).
