i just think that the tsx is too heavy for that motor. thats why alot of people get mixed reviews. the tl on the other hand is perfect. its not that heavy with a bigger motor with alot of torque. the tl is loaded with every besides the navigation. hands down the TL

and plus the TL's look more likee the luxury version of the TSX anyway. IMO the TSX taillights look like they go on the TL and the headlights on the TL look like they go on the TSX**Blk Housed Slut Crew Member #1**

I have always liked the styling of the older 3.2 TL but I'm strictly talking about the 2004+ model.
I have heard about the p/w ratio on the TSX being off, but I've also heard that it responds well to bolt-ons. I know what you mean about modding, but I think just the basics would be nice. I/H/E and a suspension would make for a fun grocery getter. I'm not actually racing people or planning on going to the track....I'm looking for style and refinement.Originally posted by AccrdkidTrust me a CB with 15 year old technology doesn't really compare to the car of today's standards, although with the right amount of money you can put in just as much to make it more comfortable.

but in all honesty, I think the TL is absolutely the better looking car, its like every part of it is symmetrically perfect. The TSX seems like its a better car for a successor to the CB in terms of features, but the TL gets me everytime I see it.Originally posted by oneoffaccordi just think that the tsx is too heavy for that motor. thats why alot of people get mixed reviews. the tl on the other hand is perfect. its not that heavy with a bigger motor with alot of torque. the tl is loaded with every besides the navigation. hands down the TL
It's just the TL will def'ly cost more. Starting price for a used TL in my area is $22,000CDN. And thats high mileage and first year of the new model. I have a hang up with owning the first year of a model (Tho both my Accords have been 1990 so so much for that)
I also will not buy an auto. It has to be standard. The cheapest TL in a standard I can find right now is $24k and then the next one after that is $36k!!!! My budget is $25k so I'll be forced into the oldest and highest mileage TL's without much choice when you add in the requirement of being a manual transmission.
The TSX starts at about $17k and about half of them are manuals. From $17 - $25k I have 9 standard models to choose from with mileage of about 30k to 75k.
I dunno, I know the TL is nicer, but I'm leaning towards the TSX....plus my fiancee really likes the TSX (though she wouldn't cry at a TL)

I/H/E on a TSX is good for like 200whp... they detuned that motor like crazy
Plus you don't have to deal with the torque steer.
My friend has a TSX, stock. They're very nice cars, although they're a little slow.

The TL has like 230-235 WHP stock, in 6 speed form for the 3.2TL, and the new Type S has about 250-260WHP stock.
And they only weigh about 200lbs more than a TSX. Do the math.
Also, the early 2004-2006 TL suffered from torque steer mostly because of the suspension calibrations. It is curable.
The Type S has none to speak of. The fact that an additional 30WHP and quite a bit more torque to the wheels was cured, shows that it wasn't necessarily a chassis issue.
Here are some good links.

You just can't get that sound out of a K series. As much as I like screaming 4 bangers, I LOVE the J series.

Why are you so set on the acura's?
Why not go for a new accord? Like the 7th gen, loaded 6 sp. You'd have all the features but you'd get the more powerful 6 cylinder and cheaper maintenance...
I guess it looks like you've decided. I just feel like for a lower price you can get everything but the "A" on the front/ back. And IMO the "H" even looks better. haha. But no doubt the Acura has more status. I've never driven either though.

They are both very similar, but the TL has things that the Acura just doesn't. The interior is similar in materials, but a little nicer overall. It certainly looks better in person, it has an LSD, more power and torque, and more features.
I really like the V6 6 speed Accords, and getting one wouldn't be a bad choice, but then again neither would the TL.

i'm stuck too, even though my next car is an s2k, if i had to choose it would be between a accord(whatever the round-ish body style) and the tl(same body style)
thinking like 2000-03 or something like that for both"You don't have to be a Phi Beta Kappa to know not to strip-search a girl who is accused of stealing change,"
I did gagoogity that girl. I gashmoigitied her gaflavity with my googis. And I am sorry.

I'm sure I have about 10 million.
Second of all. On a budget of 25k it seems like a fully loaded accord could bring more than a TSX. I'm not comparing accord to TL. But I've been in a TSX and it really didn't impress me. I've got a friend with an accord, sat in the back of both and I honestly like the accord more.
As far as handling and driving that would be the difference to me.Last edited by ilovemycb7; 09-11-2007, 10:21 PM.

Yeah, I just caught that. I make tons of typos. They are just well disguised.
As for Accord vs TSX, it would depend. The TSX is a little more responsive and tightly tuned, due to the marketing demographic it is designed to appeal to. It is also smaller which helps.
As for Accord, it apparently makes a world of difference to add lowering springs and the rear sway bar from a TL. I guess Honda didn't want it to handle too well. Having driven the 06 V6, it is very similar to the CB7. It has just a smidge more body roll, but turn in response and overall handling are very similar. I know how well the CB7 responds to suspension mods, and have no reason to suspect that the CM wouldn't be equal. Of course, the TL/TSX has the same chassis, so they probably respond equally well. In a car that heavy, I would rather have the V6 too.

Yeah, the TL is an awesome car.
But I would just rather have a loaded Accord over a TSX. But that's just me... I haven't driven either so it's not really a fair opinion. But I've still got it... don't we all.
Now the new accord is supposed to be pretty nice. From the Moter Trend article I read any how.
