Its about time.

Everyone always talks about how bad the other accord sites are, and of course they talk crap on us, but i like this place. Lotta good comradary. And IMO, when entering the street tuning world, a site like this is a good thing to have. Now i see why people stay even after theyve sold their cb7s.

I should probably say this in response to my last post...

Anyone that I feel would fit as a moderator will be approached by me. Don't ask to be a mod. If you've shown me on here that you have the ability (moderating is more about being mature and tactful, and less about how much you know) then I will have already considered you for the position. If you want to be a mod on cd5tuner.com and I haven't asked you, join up and show me you can do it! Help out, participate helpfully in conversation, keep the enthusiasm level high by being positive... Believe me, I'll notice.

The current cb7tuner.com staff will not be migrating to cd5tuner. I trust the mods here immensely, and I consider them all to be friends. They would make it work, and I know it. However, to have even one cb7tuner mod on cd5tuner would make it seem more like an extension of this place... and I don't want it to be anything like that. In time, I hope for cd5tuner.com to be an independent equal... For 4th gens, it's cb7tuner. For 5th gens, cd5tuner. I don't want people to think of it as "cb7tuner for 5th gens"

The fact that there is so much solidarity based on everyone sharing in a certain make/model/generation is a GREAT thing for the site... however, one downside is that when you get a bunch of people together who have the same general mindset, they tend to become a little unreasonable. Civics suck, Tegs suck, any other Accord sucks, Mustangs suck, all domestics suck... if it's not a CB Accord, it's trash. Groupthink.

Still, I'd take this group of tuners over any other general site!

I already wrote 2 FAQs for the new site (Rotor over hub conversion, 11.2" brake upgrade). Im sure someone else already did them here (hopefully, because I need pictures to pilfer!), but they were 2 jobs that I have either done or heavily researched and planned to do, so it made sense for me to rewrite it, just to cement it in my brain.

I plan on doing one for EGR cleaning as well. Anyone else have any other things they'd like outlined?

Im just pissed I left my haynes manual at home, so I dont have any specifics (hex size, torque specs) in there yet.

i do say DSM's suck, we got a dsm block and the thing seriously weighs 50lbs. how the hell do they boost those things?

I have an H22 block in my shed that probably weighs even less! Aluminum is a wonderful thing... unless you're screwing something into it!



As for Phempa, yeah, he was one of the first I talked to. The site will probably be hosted on his server for a bit as well. One it grows, I'll move it to the same server as this site. I keep missing him on AIM! The sooner he and I can find some time to work on things, the sooner this will be up and running!

And Mark, you rock!




Another thing that has occurred to me... The 1st gen Odyssey is based on the 5th gen Accord. I may make an Odyssey subforum on there. Same motors, probably similar suspension components... Plus, I want one to play with!
Just a thought, though. Might not really happen.

im one of those tuners where ill respect another tuner just as so long he gives me respect.

i LOVE the CD5. i would get one if i could. they look hot with just a drop and some nice rims. but it has to be black. lol. i like the cb7 better tho b/c its smaller(streamline wise) in comparison to the CD5. if you line the 2 up side by side the roof of the cb7 is lower than the CD5.

but sorry. mustangs will always suck in my book. yeah sure their fast. but ewww. a mustang? more like mustrash to me. yuck. i cant even believe i typed that word. it has to be a typo...

One of my friends at home owns a shop that basically specializes in Mustangs. Hes probably the most down to earth guy I know, and his car is actually pretty sick. i can't turn my nose up at mustangs, simply because theyre not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. If done correctly, like any car, they will look nice.
