I'm getting fat, again. Need a new workout routine.

Back around 2005 in GA, I used to work out every week. 200 situps, 15 curls (each arm) and push-ups. I lost about 20lbs. But, when I got back to GA in May of this year, I started to gain my weight back. I used to weight 171lbs the whole year of 2005. Around January 2006 in Alabama, I started drinking 5 bottles of water everyday and I lost an enormous amount of weight. Around mid-2006, I used to weigh 131lbs. Right now, I weigh 170lbs. By the way, I'm only 5'5. So, I'm short and fat. I am doing sit-ups and curls again. Is there anything else I could do to get my slim style back?

haha i'm kidding. but, there is alot of good information in that thread.

cardio, and diet play big roles in losing fat. run some each day. i run a mile each day, and i'm losing some fat.

    its like

don't go run a mile or whatever, then go to mcdonalds and eat a bigmac. know what i'm sayin? watch what you eat. i don't even remember the last time i went to a fast food place

    wait..yeah i do...saturday afternoon

but it was chicfla, so no matter how bad it was for me, it tasted REALLY good.

anyway, NO chicfla if you're trying to lose weight. you could try to take a fat burner along with running and stuff. i've never said that to anybody, becuase i've never tried any fatburners, but i've heard alotta stuff about them.

once again, im not giving the to fatburners, i'm just opening another door.

personally, i'd stick to the good ol' diet and exercise.

Go to one for your fitness stores and buy this book.

Body for Life by Bill Phillips (12 weeks to Mental and Physical Strength)
I start reading this book last night after my buddy Jarhead293 dropped it off and I must say its one of the best things I've ever did in my life. It confirmed tons of the info i have been digging up on the web for the pass 2 weeks. I never like these types of books and thought I would never read one but this alot more than one of those self help nonsense books. Great nutrition and workout info along with tones of motivation and recipes.

I agree with Gemini. Body for Life is a great book. I am actually using it right now to get down to weight for the Navy. Bill has also written an recipe book called Eating for Life that you might check out also. One thing that does kinda suck is getting up at 5am to work out. As for not getting to eat certain foods, that is what the free days are for.

tell me about it bro, I got up at 6am this morning (last time I did that was atleast 5 years ago), went to the gym and worked out until 7:30am, drove home, took a shower while my girl made breakfast and packed my lunch, i was at work by 8:30am. I am so fucking proud of myself for going to bed early and waking up and going to the gym that early

Thats true. I'm still struggling with getting into the grove of it. It's only my second week, but I still have to fight to wake up at 5. You know what they say: An object in motion stays in motion but an object at rest is too lazy to get off his fat ass.
